The Farmers Market Association of North Carolina is a statewide, nonprofit organization focused on Supporting & Promoting Local, Sustainable Food!

 

Farmers Markets and other organizations and individuals who support farmers, growers and producers throughout North Carolina benefit from membership in FMANC by networking to:

 

  • Advocate for the agricultural community at the local, state and federal levels
  • Market and promote local, sustainable food and farm products
  • Work cooperatively to secure liability insurance and promotional materials
  • Provide an online database that matches local farmers and customers with local markets
  • Share market management tools and educational activities, events and resources that encourage growth of local food systems
Reasons to Join the Farmers Market Association of North Carolina

There are more than 150 Farmers Markets in North Carolina that produce millions of dollars in revenue for the local farm economies across the State of North Carolina. Decisions are made each day by various entities that affect agriculture, farming and farmers markets.  It is time our Farmers Markets had a voice.   
 
There is power in numbers.  Not only does the Association influence local, state and federal decision makers, but there are many other benefits of a statewide Farmers Market Association. For example, the group is able to negotiate for better rates on liability insurance, marketing materials, etc. 
 
The Association serves an educational role.  Farmers Markets are unique marketing venues that require specialized training and management in order to be successful.
 
Sharing, networking and communicating are more good reasons to join the Farmers Market Association of North Carolina.
